SPONSORSHIP FORMS AVAILABLE NOW!

We very much hope that most people walking on Shakespeare’s Way, whether the whole route, or part of it, will support the Shakespeare Hospice of Stratford-upon-Avon (see Guidebook, pages 5 & 6 for details). This can be done by sponsoring yourselves for a sum of money and, hopefully, also obtaining sponsorship support from friends, relations and workmates.  With this thought in mind we have special Sponsorship Forms available.

To receive an electronic copy please e-mail your request to swsponsor@oakgates.fsnet.co.uk

FEATURED ACCOMMODATION

As a supplement to the Shakespeare’s Way guidebook we  provide accommodation planners for those that wish to take advantage of a large number of excellent places to stay along our route.

New to this website will be an occasional feature introducing you to a selection of bed and breakfast establishments, guest houses and inns from the pages of our planners, that offer accommodation for the weary walker.

Peter has retired….

Peter Titchmarsh, the founder and driving force behind Shakespeare’s Way has hung up his walking boots. The day-to-day running of Shakespeare’s Way Association has been handed to Jenny and Rod Davidson. Peter first developed Shakespeare’s Way in 2006 having previously created The Macmillan Way, a 290-mile route between Boston and Abbotsbury.

(Funds from the sale of guide books and walkers sponsorship has raised over £320,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.) Peter developed Shakespeare’s Way to aid The Shakespeare Hospice at Stratford upon Avon, with all profits from the sale of our guide book being given to this worthy cause.  None of the above would have been possible and neither charity would have benefited without Peter’s vision, determination and sheer hard work.

Postage Costs:

From the very beginnings of The Shakespeare’s Way Association we have managed to absorb the cost of postage and packing within the cover price of our publications. In recent months we have seen a significant rise in these costs and with another postage price rise coming in early 2011 we have had to take steps in order to ensure that The Shakespeare Hospice benefit fully. We have now added a flat rate charge of £1.00 to all of our main publication. Our in-house produced booklets and planners will not incur this additional cost.

Although this is a reluctant decision we are sure that you will understand the reasons behind it.
